Hi VW Camper, football, music, tv, film and funky fans!! Hope you're all doing well. I'm good apart from still trying to get to grips with my newish phone (6 months is new for me!!!) - it keeps talking to me and asking what I'd like it to do - NOTHING i tell it but it won't listen! Well, apart from let me make a call...that's the one thing I can't seem to do quickly, have to press 4 buttons!! It's still my fave ever phone though. I think that's because I have this app (speaktoit) which is like a personal assistant and she'll send texts and check your diary etc. Anyway...if you ask for a recipe for chilli con carne she has a fit and tells you not to be so rude or to get your mind out of the gutter!! I can't work out what she thinks I'm saying but its very entertaining asking her...answers on a postcard?!
I've been working really hard lately trying to market my t-shirt website. The summer plan includes getting out to some shows and fairs to actually sell some stuff to real people who I can see but in the cold, dark winter months it's all about the website! I've found twitter really good. Not just for direct marketing (I'm really not into that flood people with your website type tweet!) but getting to know people and their ideas - there are some really cool, friendly and helpful people... @Beauchicevents, @MumpreneurUK to name just two - both of these have cool websites (even if I am male and don't understand such things as they talk of!) Beauchic is even a dab hand at designing t-shirts, especially the wedding variety!!! Of course, there are some arses on twitter as well but I'll save those for another blog!!
It's nearly Valentine's Day and I'm working on some great unique t-shirts to try and offer a different gift...I'm not really a traditionalist in terms of pressies and like to do things a bit different - if you're like me then you might like one of my t-shirts...take a look at www.photosynthesize.co.uk. I guess that now I'm actively part of the marketing machine I should just shut up, but the commercialism of Valentine's kind of bugs me a bit! Great marketing by Clinton's or whoever it was who invented it! I personally like a treasure hunt, bag of promises and a hand made card...but that probably sounds tight huh?! Well it's not....I like to call it personal, oh and for the record, I make my birthday cards too - I just think its more personal!!!
Anyway, that's my rant over for now....time to watch some football and book a few stalls at some upcoming VW Camper shows to sell my wares....
